Fruit Trifle on the light side!

I had the most delicious low calorie fruit trifle last week with a group of friends that I asked for the recipe and graciously was granted the same. I happen to make trifle all the time, but I make it with fresh whole cream and cooked puddings, with rich pound and chocolate cake. This trifle was just as delicious but was very low in fat and just as rich. So, I thought after all the rich decadent desserts we have prepared for the past few months that this one would be just the ticket for Super Bowl Sunday. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Easy Low Cal No Cook Trifle

Ingredients:
* quart of skim milk
* 2 packages of instant sugar free pudding *cheesecake, vanilla or coconut
* 1 prepared angel food cake
* 2 packages of fresh blueberries
* 2 packages of fresh strawberries
* 2 containers of fat free Cool Whip

Prepare 2 pkg. instant sugar free pudding with skim milk according to the directions
Slice the strawberries
Layer the following in a clear bowl or "Trifle dish". Option: Individual servings prepared in water goblets or wine glasses. Serves 12

* broken up pieces of ready made angel food cake
* pudding
* strawberries
* blueberries
* fat free cool whip

Repeat 2 more times

Garnish with strawberries

Enjoy!

  1. This sounds like it would be a wonderful addition to my Super Bowl Sunday feast, Rose! I think I'll try the individual serving option that you listed in your post. I bet it would look pretty in individual goblets, though your picture looks absolutely gorgeous. :)
    Have a great weekend!!
